We Are Wagdog Studio
A pottery venture by husband-and-wife team Aubrie and Alex DeBate. We create handmade stoneware in our home studio in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a focus on functional pieces like planters, bowls, vases, and jars.
Most of our work is wheel-thrown, then carefully trimmed and finished by hand. Alex’s pieces often feature carved motifs and chattering, while Aubrie’s lean into softer forms and expressive glazing. Together, our work blends texture, color, and form to create pieces that feel both personal and made to be used every day.

Our pottery journey began in January 2026, when we took at a class at our local studio, Fort Wayne Clay. After only a few sessions, we quickly became addicted to playing with mud and creating new shapes. A month into our 2 month course, we became members at our studio and spent as much time as we could learning all about the art of pottery. Soon after, we started building our home studio in our basement. Turning a room once used as a forgotten storage space into a space that fosters creativity and fun. We love spending time together, challenging the other to try new things and get out of our comfort zones.

The name Wagdog Studio, was inspired by our favorite creatures, Barnabas & Chico, who are almost always by our sides when creating in our studio.
